Knowledge is the key to a creative life. I’ve taught various pieces of software including Autodesk’s AutoCAD, 3DS MAX, Revit and Google’s SketchUp. While teaching at various places (my current office, Cooper, Robertson and Partners, the Continuing Education Department of the Pratt Institute and the offices of Brooklyn architect, Ann Falutico, AIA) I’ve tried not only to teach how to use the software, but what the software means to the process of designing. I believe that an understanding of the role of technology is just as important as how to use that technology. Computer Support
In the last decade alone, in-office and in-home computer networks have advanced more quickly than ever before. It has therefore become more and more complicated to be sure your systems are set up and working properly as well as up-to-date. I have had many years of experience working within the IT Department of Cooper, Robertson and Partners as well as establishing and maintaining a smaller network of computers and equipment for Brooklyn architect, Ann Falutico, AIA. Design Software Integration and Support
The introduction and integration of design software into an office is a complicated process that must be carefully planned out. Standards for various areas including folder structure, file naming, CAD work and design software settings must be developed to ensure end-user efficiency. Over the past decade I have worked at various architecture firms, large and small, setting up technology environments designed to promote both creativity as well as efficiency. 3D Modeling and Rendering
3D-visualization has become a commonly used tool for most projects in recent years. For over a decade, I have worked in various 3D programs including AutoCAD, 3DS MAX and SketchUp to conceptualize, design and present residential, commercial and urban design projects. A goal that remains in the front of my mind while working in 3D is to create models that can be used for multiple purposes.
